At the tender age of nineteen, while in college, Mario Camino began his career in real estate. He purchased a small townhouse, renovated it, and then sold it for a profit. Although this was a humble beginning, it was his first step toward becoming a successful developer and the owner of a multi-million-dollar company. Today, Mario is the founder and CEO of Arkad Group Real Estate Corporation, a leading real estate investment, development, property management and hard money lending company located in Downtown Plainfield, New Jersey.
After earning a law and finance degree from Rutger’s University, Mario become a real estate broker and began to climb the ranks of production and sales. While working for the largest residential brokerage firm in New Jersey, he met Daniel Rivera, and the two eventually decided to join forces and strike out on their own. In 2008, they established Arkad Group and specialized in developing, building, and managing distressed residential and commercial properties.
Mario is a family man, a father, a son, local business owner, developer, landlord and philanthropist. Mario co-founded and oversees the day to day operations of the arkadGROUP Real Estate Corporation as the CEO of what in recent years has become one of New Jersey’s fastest growing TOD development companies. Under his leadership, Arkad relocated their headquarters to downtown Plainfield in 2012 in order to gain presence and market share. The move was ignited by
acquiring, repurposing and moving to the old “Queen City Savings Bank Building”.
Mario has become an expert at locating and acquiring underutilized property in key locations within growing cities & emerging NJ sub-markets. He’s well versed on securing approvals, financing, entitlements, and all the necessary pieces needed for complex real estate development projects to materialize; which are then positioned as catalyst for the revitalization of downtowns, CBD’s and TOD’s districts. Due to the group’s reputation for delivering outstanding quality, superior design, and exceptional customer service, Arkad quickly amassed an impressive portfolio of ever-growing properties.
Mario is also the head of Arkad Capital, LLC. Arkad’s Lending Division and latest venture. An entity created to serve as a reliable and affordable lending conduit to the rehabbing funding industry. Being that the principals of arkadCap have completed over 250 residential flips successfully; the vast amount of knowledge, care to detail, structure and understanding of liquidity needs became arkadCAP’s main attributes. Connecting with borrowers at a level hardly seen from other lenders in the industry.
